Families served by Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative who are dependent on the income of military personnel involved in Operation Iraqi Freedom can make bill-paying arrangements, if they are having a problem meeting this obligation.
 Denise McCormick, manager of customer service, explains, “We realize
that during this time of military involvement, many families are affected
when one or more of their number has been called to active duty.
There may be an interruption in income that affects bill paying for a
limited time. Blue Ridge is sensitive to the needs of military families
and wants to work with them if they’re experiencing difficulty in
paying their electric bill.” While the amount of the bill
will not change, Blue Ridge will be willing to defray a portion of the
bill until a later date, when income would be restored.
“We appreciate the persons who have been taken from their homes
and are serving our country in any capacity during this operation.
Our entire co-op family will continue to pray for their safe return.
However, we also want to make ourselves available in a more tangible way.
I hope that anyone needing our assistance will ask for it,” concludes
Blue Ridge President and CEO Charles E. Dalton.
